Green Valley is home to the friendliest school in Australia, Ashcroft High. Established in 1964, Ashcroft High is a Centre of Excellence in the Performing Arts.
The school aims to provide a caring and supportive school environment, and to maximise the opportunities offered to each student. There is special emphasis on English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. Principal Ted Noon says the school has created long and enduring relationships among students and between students and staff.
Success is measured in many ways, and there are so many people from this school who have had success in their lives The School boasts sports fields, modern library, science laboratories, three computer labs, dance studio, school hall, specialist rooms for practical subjects, special fitness room, new TAS rooms and a weight training gym.
The school has a long tradition of excellence in rugby league - former students include high profile players Brad Fittler and Jason Taylor - but has also forged an identity in the performing arts: recently, the school won a NSW Director-General's award for Aboriginal and Community Relations.
